This is a year our approach to an original performance night is so unique that the title for it came to us as an exotic sounding word from a foreign language spoken thousands of miles away. “Heyra” is a word found in the Icelandic language which translated into English means “To Hear” or simply “Hear”. Music is a creative form of expression based on our sense of hearing. It is also an art that is attributed to creative interpretation. As part of this concert, we chose to re-familiarize music as a sense of foreign language. This is something we really would like you to enjoy as your own personal revelation and wish for you to experience throughout the evening. We are extremely excited and are looking forward to performing music for you on December 18th. As part of Christmas already dwelling within our minds and hearts, let us celebrate the end of the 2018 as another year draws to a close.

Our personal concert band history tells a story of the uncharted. Like explorers, we yearn for distant places yet unheard of. It’s a process that embraces adventure and leaves our concept of general safety behind. It feels safe staying where we’ve already been. For musicians, much as any part of human life, the familiar is a place where confidence creates true change. The confidence of 50 musicians is an embodiment of a greater state of being that is astounding as it is enchanting. On performance night, this enchantment transcends audiences into a wide world of musical creation. It’s also where months of practice reach a higher meaning, the defining moment where historically relevant music is lifted to new creative latitudes. Come and join us and be part of our audience on June 05.

To make thing really interesting, both bands will combine into a 100 person super band performing two arrangements together. This is something you don’t want to miss.
As the season turns closer to Christmas, and the year’s journey reaches into the end of 2017, we hope that you and your families have enjoyed everything the Okanagan lifestyle has to offer. For the delight of everyone, our band has worked our Winter repertoire into quite a show. It is this year that we are presenting to you a tightly woven musical celebration resonating its luster upon ‘The Golden Halls of Christmas’. With this new season now upon us, we are inviting you to come to an exciting concert vision for people of all ages. Our new a roster of songs is an inspiration of eclective musical selections we are candidly coining as an ‘eclection’. So why an ‘election’?
Our band has decided to do something worthy of special mention for this upcoming show. We are commemorating the passing of our last conductor, Gerald Nadeau, with a commissioned score written and conducted by our own and talented Matthew Falk. In the history of the Penticton Concert Band, our love of music has usually been inspired by contemporary arrangements. As we are deeply moved by our recent loss, we intend to light the heart of our audience with a custom memory written for all time.
So let us play you a musical springtime story, a muse in concert for all musical souls. Please come and join us.

Yes, it’s true! The Penticton Concert Band has a new website. We’re trying out some new ways to reach our core audience out there, so we thought we’d go all out on this one. We did our research, and looked across the country to see how we could stand out. Really stand out. We’d like to thank the Penticton Arts Council for helping us finance this great idea.
We’re working hard to make things interesting and entertaining in our media and on stage, so give us a like on Facebook and find out what makes this band stand out.
